The image of the human body has been the subject of stylistic and formal research and a recurrent obsession of artists throughout the ages and in all its forms, whether portrait, self-portrait or nude.
Photography has also explored the same questions about its representation. This exhibition, which includes the Centre Pompidou‘s public collection and the private collection of the collector Marin Karmitz, brings together more than 500 photographs and documents by around 120 historical and contemporary photographers, and offers an original perspective on the image of mankind in the 20th and 21st centuries.
