L’Intime explores the notion of intimacy from the eighteenth century to the present day. Divided into twelve sections, the exhibition brings together furniture, decorative art objects, paintings, and photographs, as well as books and a variety of ephemera. Among the wide-ranging group of artists featured are Fragonard, Nan Goldin, and Thomas Hirschhorn.
Presented at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the exhibition is curated by Christine Macel, the museum’s director, in collaboration with historian Fulvio Irace. The installation was designed by Italian architect Italo Rota.
