This book is the materialization of the Comunidad de Madrid’s mission to record the Madrid landscape for posterity and to create a visual database that is now part of the Regional Archive of the Comunidad of Madrid.

To this end, some of the best national photographers have covered 199 areas of the territory, spread over 178 municipalities and 21 districts of the city of Madrid, recording the geographical, aesthetic, social, cultural and urban features from a contemporary viewpoint.

Misión Región is a project curated by Paco Gómez for the Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural de la Consejería de Cultura, Turismo y Deporte de la Comunidad de Madrid.
