‘Fernando Zóbel. Contrapuntos’ is the catalog attached to one of the exhibitions of the 57th Venice Biennale held in 2017. Zóbel was one of the representatives of pictorial Abstraction of the second half of the 20th century in Spain, and one of the founders of the Museo de Arte Abstracto Español in Cuenca. His painting, stripped of all artifice, combines techniques from Asia and the West.
Along with the ‘Saetas’ series and the ‘Negra’ series, the catalog presents a set of personal documents and a selection of images from his diaries, kept by the Fundación Juan March.
Exhibition curated by Ditas R. Samson and Guillermo Paneque.
