The Argentinean-born artist Tomás Sarraceno is a keen investigator of the complex and unequal relationship between humans and the environment.
The ecological commitment of the project presented at the Serpentine Gallery is embodied not only in the installation of sculptures-habitat in Royal Parks, but also in the conception of a catalogue designed to minimize the carbon footprint of its production. Based on this premise, a specific handmade paper was commissioned to be made at the Museu Molí Paperer de Capellades, composed of 17 native flower seeds. The cover can be ‘cut up’ using the pieces of paper as seed for planting.
Exhibition curated by Lizzie Carey-Thomas and Chris Bayley.
