The Valencian painter Joaquín Sorolla was a prolific artist who achieved great success during his lifetime. After a brief realist period, his work was classified as Impressionism and later Luminism, a style of painting characterized by the effects of light on figures and landscapes.
In this exhibition, 40 paintings of summer scenes have been selected, the ones that made him most famous, in which the main setting is the Mediterranean and Cantabrian coasts and the playful aspect of the sea.
Exhibition curated by Casilda Ybarra Satrústegui and organised in collaboration with the Museo Sorolla and the Fundación Museo Sorolla.
