Pablo Picasso: Structures of Invention. Unity of a Life’s Work is the latest installation of the Museo Picasso Málaga’s permanent collection. This ambitious project represents the work of an international team of art historians and curators led by Michael FitzGerlad that includes Joshua I. Cohen, Mėta Valiušaitytė, Rocío Robles Tardío, Blair Hartzell, Giovanni Casini, and Ross Finocchio, all of whom also contributed to the exhibition catalogue. Organized into thematic sections that explore theoretical dimensions of Picasso’s work, as well as material concerns, both the exhibition and its accompanying publication provide new and comprehensive ways to understand the diverse art of Picasso through the guiding principles of continuity and innovation.
